Give Yourself a Little Gift
Let me guess ...are you rushing, breathing fast and short breaths and worrying about something?
Now give your self a little gift ...Breathe gently to relax ... Even if the thought or worry or fear continues to make you stress, hyperventilate or even break out in a sweat, just breathe gently to relax!
Watch your breath for a minute or two, and continue breathing gently. Now observe your body for another moment. Is your stomach clenched? Is your breathing shallow? Is your heart pounding? Are your temples throbbing? Are your neck and shoulders stiff?
Continue to breathe gently and slowly, and just for a little longer, observe your breath. In and out...in and out, gently... Continue observing your body in order to notice how it gently slows down and begins to release its frantic hold on your nerves. Breathe gently. In and out…in and out, gently. Your shoulders are relaxing, and so is your neck, your head, your back and arms too and then your mind too ... Your whole body is softening, you are feeling better, much better ... no matter what is happening right now.
